What is the difference between a normal hanger and a combination hanger? I always thought that a hanger was a hanger. Now I realize how many different types exist. Cheap metal wire hangers, plastic, wooden, and tubular hangers, padded, ones with clips, combination hangers, combination hangers with clips, and maybe that’s about it. With so many different articles of clothing it is no surprise that we have various types of hangers to accommodate them.
Hangers provide the basic ability to hang an article of clothing. It doesn’t get much more complex than that. Impressive I know but what if we add something to it. The best thinkers of the day got together back in the early 1800s (You don’t have to believe me. For all you know I could have just pulled that date at random from my head) and suggested that we put a bar at the bottom of the hanger so we could also hang a pair of pants. Mind blowing. We shall call this the combination hanger. Hang your shirt and pants all on one hanger. No strings attached. I actually wonder if they also did not devise a specialty hanger to hang your guns as well. Awesome.
I know it doesn’t compare to a new iphone announcement but if you lived back then I’m sure you might be pretty stoked…maybe. Combination hangers have come a long way but still offer the same functionality, though some even come with clips now. So if you are in the market for new hangers why not kill two articles of clothing with one hanger. Go combination and never look back.
